Located in South Carolina, this tree is characterized by a strange feature of growing outwards rather than growing upwards. It spans an area of 17,000 sq feet where it provides shade with its luscious green branches. Legends say that ghosts of former slaves appear as angels around the tree, hence the name. But it basically originates from the Angel Estate, owned by Justus Angel and Martha Waight Angel.
